The idea for this Montessori kindergarten came from the management team of the Westphalian Children's Village: A social worker from the WCV regularly visits families in the neighborhood of the children's village. Rapid population growth and urbanization have led to a significant increase in family and social problems in recent years. The children in the family are often the ones who suffer.
The children cared for in the WCV’s existing care program are mostly of school age. In order to help preschool children as well, the WCV team founded a Montessori kindergarten in 2023, which poor children can attend free of charge upon request. It is also open to children whose parents can cover the kindergarten fees themselves.
